Too many people pass by Aireys Inlet. This is a hidden jewel of the
Aireys Inlet is just past Anglesea on your trip along the Great Ocean Road about 120 kilometres southwest of Melbourne. This is one of the Great Ocean Road’s secret spots. It has rugged cliffs, a gorgeous inlet (which is great for fishing), beautiful beaches which are safe swimming and is famous for being home to Split Point Lighthouse which was the location in the children’s TV series ‘Around the Twist.’ Aireys Inlet is now well known for its live music events and festivals, has a healthy, literary hub and has loads of regular calendar events. Aireys Inlet used to be the town you drove through on your way to Lorne (20 minutes away) but it is now a destination in its own right. If you haven’t spent a few days in this lovely, seaside town then maybe it’s time you did. Spend a day or two in some Aireys Inlet accommodation – you won’t be disappointed.
