Lavers Hill is not just a spot to take a rest, refuel your car or have a bite to eat – it is so much more and has so much more to offer. Lavers Hills now has some great cafes and a great pub. The Shoppe does fabulous coffee and all day breakfasts and makes great home made pies and sausage rolls. Blackwood Gully has restaurant style meals during the day. Yatzies is the local takeaway and the Lavers Hill Tavern ( now called the Otway Central ) has very cold beer and excellent evening meals. This is a good place to base yourself for a few days. It is very central to all the attractions in the Otways and has plenty of good accommodation options nearby.
Lavers Hill is very close to everything which makes it a very popular destination. The closest attraction is Melba Gully, named after our illustrious opera singer – Dame Nellie Melba. Lavers Hill accommodation is not 5 star but it is very comfortable and comes with great country hospitality.
